WGIRLS London 2nd Annual Declutter and Give Back! initiative
Primary tabs
Join our Declutter and Give Back! campaign from now until March 2012.
The purpose of this campaign is to support women refugees fleeing domestic and sexual violence, by donating beauty products and toiletry essentials, as well as treating them to a pamper day--in an effort to remind all women that they deserve to feel beautiful!
When fleeing from abusive environments many refugee women are focused on saving their lives as well as the lives of their children. They leave their homes with very few belongings, and very often the last things considered are those everyday essentials, such as make up, soap, and body lotion.
Participate in the WGIRLS London Declutter and Give Back! initiative by clearing out your bathroom cabinets and donating your unwanted beauty products and toiletries!
Salons have generously offered to serve as Drop-off Points to make it easier for you to donate around the city. Click here to locate your nearest Drop-off Point.
And please check out our associated Glamour & Giving beauty-inspired fundraiser on 8 March, 2012, in aid of providing a day of pampering and afternoon tea at the Solace Women's Aid refuges, where all our beauty products and toiletries will be distributed!

How did we come up with the idea?
WGIRLS London wanted to replicate the prom dress donations drives by the WGIRLS Chapters in the US. We loved the idea of donating dresses to girls for prom; to provide a temporary relief from the daily hardships of their lives, with the chance to feel good both inside and out. UK culture isn't as prom/dance focused, and we decided to support an alternative population in need of re-building a sense of both inner and outer beauty: women sufferers of domestic and sexual violence.
